My husband and I were in the final stages of cleaning up our credit so that this summer we'd be able to buy our family a home. I applied for a loan and was approved, the company was oging to wire the finds to our account.....

it was all a fraud. My bank account was swept by these thieves. I have no money to pay rent, my car, nothing I was bled dry and I now have a negative account balance because of it. My bank just says "we're sorry". I am off to the police station today.

I am so angry with myself and so hurt that I was taken advantage of. I have no way to pay my bills due today because my husband doesn't get paid until next Friday. I can't get apply for another loan because of my negative status EVERYWHERE now, and because I don't want to lower my score!

Please pray that I can dig myself out of this mess.

Holy moly.
I dont know what to say..

I cannot believe that there are people would do this to someone.

I hope your bank comes up with more than an "im sorry"

how did you find this supposed "lender"
did you do any background checks on them ?

that is just horrid.

Good luck and I hope that you get some sort of resitution

That is so NOT fair. It sucks that there are people out there who make a living by stealing other peoples money! That makes me so mad.

Hang in there...hopefully the law will be on your side and things will get sorted out.

Sending blessings your way.....

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Everyday is a constant struggle. I get more bills in the mail that I have to call on and delay. I have some people who are VERY willing to work with me and some that just aren't. My landlord was the worst of all. I completely thought he of all people would take it okay and wait until this week when my husband got paid. He wouldn't even hear it, and I have NEVER been late with a payment!

My bank is telling me that I am not covered under fraud protection because I wilingly gave the people my information therefore I am just going to have to deal with the negative balance. Which sucks because I don't have the money to make it positive and close it! They won't close it and they also won't freeze it! I feel so stuck. And their ad campaign right now is "bank charged with excessive fairness", they aren't being fair at all. They are charging me $25/day for the negative balance on top of all the overdrafts that I have to fight.

After everything, I know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, I just can't see it yet. I am terrified that I will go to jail because I write checks for groceries, and I was just at the market a couple days before this happened.

I can't give you any information about the company, because as of Friday, they disappeared. There's no trace of them online, but they are still answering their phones. The police opfficer was able to get a few words in before they told him too to F off and hung up. I guess only time will tell.

Thank you all so very much!

Tia,

I have been thinking about you since I read this and discovered this bit of information that my help you with your bank, provided you use a reputable bank. If you bank is FDIC insured, than no matter whether you signed up a special service, or not, you can be protected under federal consumer protection guidelines, generally referred to as Regulation E.

Regulation E, officially the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, protects consumers against fraudulent use of their electronic transactions, such as for debit card purchases, automatic teller machine withdrawals or online money transfers. It does not cover paper-based activity, such as for stolen checks.
The regulation limits the consumer's liability generally to $50 - if the bank is notified within two days of realizing the fraud. Wait longer, and the liability increases, up to $500 in unauthorized activity.

As soon as the bank is notified, staff there will quickly work to stop the fraudulent activity - closing bank accounts or blocking card transactions, depending on the situation.

They'll also work with you to ensure any outstanding transactions you tell them about are covered. Within 10 business days, financial institutions must refund the lost money, with the provision that their investigation shows you didn't actually commit the fraud.
Regulation E allows financial institutions 45 days to complete their investigations. Bank security officers get copies of signed transaction slips or ATM camera images, for example, to determine who took the money.

"The underlying assumption is that the customer is honest, and regulation E is there to protect them,

I hope this helps you in some small way
