I just got a call from my cousin....
Her mom had emergency gall bladder surgery a couple of days ago. The surgery went well and they sent her home the next day. She ended up back in the hospital due to pain and her blood pressure skyrocketed to 240/180 or something like that....They got her blood pressure down a little bit yesterday, but she was still in a lot of pain and they were giving her dilaudid to help with that.
I just got a call from my cousin. They are lifeflighting her to Pittsburgh because she has a tear in her aorta....And, it's ripping. So, she will be having emergency heart surgery soon. Please pray for her. She is the most amazing lady in the world and doesn't deserve this. She had never had surgery until her gall bladder...
Anyway, we are all worried, and I'm having a hard time because I'm in Michigan and she's in Pittsburgh.

Ok...I just got good news...
She doesn't need surgery. I don't know the details, but I guess there is a medicine they can give her instead. She will be in ICU for one week...
Praise God!!!

Wow, that is awesome, I will pray for her and your family to have stregnth and peace during this time. I know the waiting game for healing can be a heartache, but it sounds like she is getting some amazing care!

Ok...got more info a little while ago.
They believe the split in her aorta was caused by her high blood pressure. They are giving her a blood pressure medication to get her blood pressure way down so her heart doesn't pump blood as fast...If this works, then the split will repair itself. If her blood pressure doesn't go down where she needs it to be, they will still have to do surgery...

Another update....
My aunt had an abdominal aneurysm and a blood clot behind her knee...So, they put a stent in and she's feeling a lot better.
Keep praying, please....

UPDATE.....
They are giving my aunt a blood pressure pill now, instead of through IV. This is good news. If the pill works, then they can move her out of the ICU. The IV they were giving her can only be used in the ICU....
So, hopefully, she'll be in a regular room tomorrow.

UPDATE......
She is getting moved out of the ICU today. :) As long as everything continues to go well. They had her up in a chair for quite some time yesterday and they started her on a liquid diet. Hopefully she'll be able to have some soft foods today.
If everything continues to go well, she'll be released this weekend. :)
Again, Thanks for all of the prayers. My family and I appreciate it.
