we moved to port huron last september in search of better things. better job, better church, better community, a better us.
well, so far, none of those things have happened. my husband is only making $800/mo at his job and our rent is nearly $700. we barely surviving and i just don't know what to do. our church family is non-existent...no one has even reached out to us as we don't fit their idea of a good "christian"...whatever that even means...and i'm just feeling really low.
please pray that God gives us wisdom, a better job for Steve and even a part-time job for me if that's what it takes. that's a whole other subject...leaving my dear 1 yr old at home that we waited 13 years to have. it brings tears to my eyes to even talk about it.

As for being a good Christian.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought part of being a good Christian was to love your neighbor and not be judgemental.
I guess they wouldn't like me too much either.......

Melissa I am so sorry you are sad. You have tons of SISters here who think you are super fab! Just wish we all lived in one community so we could give you lots more support!

Have you considered a different church? My husband and I didn't go to church for the first ten years we were married because we couldn't find one that was a good fit. Now we attend and are a HUGELY active part of our church! You are indeed in my thoughts and prayers...please let us know how you are doing!

I'm going through the same thing right now. My husband is trying to find a job and we just don't know where the income is going to come from. But God provides... and during these times your faith will grow. And pray often.... and people here will pray for you too ;)

i hear ya hun, we are struggling so bad right now also, haven't paid all our bills this month and have no clue how I am going to pay next months either, as my sister would say we are so po' , so po that we cna't even afford the or.
OK enough of the funnies, seriously, you will be in my prayers.
It kind of feels like you are stuck in this box and know a ton of ways out, but none of them will really work. you are jsut stuck. And all I know to do is pray, I know god will not give me anything I can't handle even though i feel like hiding under my covers till it all goes awy.
you are not alone if you need to talk i am hear for you, even its just to vent. I had to vent on my blog today because I felt so bad alwyas talking to DH about it.

i know there is that old saying the lord doesn't give us more thatn we can handle but man i know sometimes i wanna say are you kiddong me but it will work out and you will appriciate them when they do i will pray for you and cross my fingers /toes that you find better work and some great suport and friends soon

this was so encouraging to me! it's true...God always does provide one way or another. hubby and i are just trying to have good attitudes and keep our heads up.
