Some of you know that my little 3 yr old nephew, Devin has been fighting cancer behind and around one of his eyes. He has been in a lot of pain due to the abrasions on his cornea due to all the radiation.
I was hoping that if some of you had time, you could go to his caring bridge site to say hello and encourage my sister to hang in there. She has said that basically they are living in cave like conditions with his sensitivity to his eye. My sister's name is Donna. (He loves to be called Big Guy and many also know him as Happy Feet - he used to go into radiation dancing with this biggest smile. BTW, ifyou reference me, he knows me as Aunt Di.

Is there anything else we can do for them??? I know we talked about a fundraiser. What cha think?

hello...my friends..I truly do consider you guys my very good friends...Traci let me get back to you this week...i know they would appreciate it - (my sister would never ask for help - but I sure wish ew could come up wiht some idea - I am thinking maybe 8x8 pages for a book for the last several months of chemo/rad - I know I took lots of great pics while I was there of both hosp and clinic and their nurses and doctors whom my sister adored and vice versa - ?)
Love you sisters...I will touch base with you tomorrw and thanks so much for all your prayers and love - sometimes just knowing others care goes a long way!!

I just wanted to update everyone that they put little Devy back into the hospital today to help my sister manage his pain and while that will do the next MRI.
Will you please continue to pray for his healing and for the pain to disappear and also that the MRI come back clean with no cancer.

I just wanted to say thanks again. My sister, Donna had a really tough day and so did Devin. Because of his light sensitivity, my sister was not able to get out today and she so needed too!! It just breaks my heart that I can t be there to help her out and to watch her kids when needed.
Devin will have a full CT scan this week, will you please pray that it will be good with a clean bill of health and also that my sis will get some answers as to why Devin is feeling worse now that his radiation is over. He was supposed to be feeling better in 6 weeks and it is just not happening. As of today, the only thing she is able to do is give him morphine which she really doesnt want to - she wants to get some answers as to why he is feeling so badly.
Anyway thanks for being prayer warriors for my family - I really appreciated and I know that she can feel our prayers and so can Devin.

Thanks...I havent heard how his day has been but will come back with an update, maybe I can get her to come here. (My sis has been scrapbooking since the magazines/titles....but with 7 kids she just doesnt have the time. She has helped make many many family mini's we have done for our reunion and for her children's classes...you would love her!)

Just a quick update on Devin. His situation has not changed much and he continues to be in so much pain and the doctors right now still dont have answers. My sister continues to administe the morphine so that he can get up and moving for the day. thanks for your continued prayers for our "big guy and happy feet" and for my sister and her family.

My mom is there today visiting him so hopefully that will brighten his days in the next week.
Devin is going to be honored tonight at a special hockey game in Charlotte tonight and is going to get to drop the puck for kids with cancer - there are three little boys all around the age of 3 and 4 years old.
I am praying he will want to go and that is pain will leave him today and his eye so he will want to go - he is still on his morphine every day just to get through the day but since the game is tonight and it will be dark he won't have to battle any sunlight which is a blessing. I hope he goes and will have some fun like every 3 year old boy should!!

Would anyone be interested in putting together some pages?? I thought maybe I could put together some pages - maybe 8 1/2 by 11 or 8x8 pages with no pics and letting my sister put together for him and this journey -
let me know what you think and what size would be good - they could be two pages -
I could give you the ideas and we can get busy and see what we can do - please let me know if you would be interested...thanks Angie and Traci for offering to help out.

If you get an opportunity you can see the new pictures of Devin at his skating event this past weekend. He seems to be getting better so that is good news!! Again thanks for the well wishes and prayers for him!

God has answered more prayers this week, thanks to all of you who continue to pray for Devin and my sister's family.
I have great news - Devin actually went outside on Sunday and played all day with one small dose of morphine which is huge being that for the last 8 weeks it has been non stop. he continues to get his strenght back and want to go outside/ride in the van - I am so excited for him and my sister with hopes that life may start to return to some type of normalcy if there is such a thing.
Love you guys so much for being prayers warriors and it has meant the world to my sister!

jan, thanks so much and thanks for leaving him a message over at his caring bridge site. my sister treasures all of these and is so thankful for all the prayers. It is amazing to think of how we can affect someone's life by praying isnt it?? I am always like wow!
