Still somewhat new but hopefully Mr. Sullivan can help me with my problem. On certain images on this site, (forum banners, pictures posted within a message on a forum, and I think the "widgits") I can't see anything except for a white block with a red X at the top left corner. I have a somewhat new computer (got in the summer- Dell Laptop) and pretty sure have an updated version of Internet Explorer. Can you help me? Is it a missing video card or something internal??
Thanks a bunch!

Hi Kylissa,

Sorry that I missed your post the past couple of days. If I understand your problem correctly, it appears that certain graphics are not appearing properly. In Internet Exporer this could be caused by a myriad of things, but let's tackle the POP UP BLOCKER first. Assuming you are using the latest version of IE, open your browser and go to the SIStv website. Then click on:

Tools, then

Pop Up Blocker, then

Pop Up Blocker Settings

Then, in the Pop Up Blocker Settings Window type in www.scrapinstyletv.com where it asks for address of website to allow.

Then click ADD which is the button to the right.

Make sure that the SIStv address appears in the larger box below entitled ALLOWED SITES

Then click CLOSE

Then EXIT from Internet Explorer.

Then go back into IE and go to the SIStv website and see if the problem has been eliminated. If not, please email me at the address below and I will give you further help.

Take care, Kylissa!

I, too, have this problem viewing only this forum. The rest are all visible, and I have no other logo/pop up blocker issues. SIStv is a welcome site with my laptop. Any other trick?
thanks!

these are missing banners (ahem...) ;)

The ones you see in posts are likely people inserting a link in an image field instead of a hyperlink field, so it pulls up the square at that designated thumbnail size but it's not an image so it doesn't have anything to show. click on the square that isn't a real image and it will take you to an .html webpage instead of a full sized image - at least most of the time.

Greetings!

For those of you who are using Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) there is a large rectangle with a red 'x' in the upper left corner. IE is trying to read an image that is not there. When you view the very same page in Mozilla Firefox there is no large rectangle, nor is there a red 'x'. I could bore us all with an attempt to explain the whys and wherefores of the many security issues that have plagued IE since its initial release and the many Microsoft 'fixes' that have caused this type of problem along with various others. However, the best thing that I can do for you is to recommend that you download a different browser. You will find that getting used to a new and different browser is rather painless and you will eliminate many of the issues that hinder you in browsing this and other websites.

Mozilla Firefox is free and you can download it here.

I spent 13 years using IE and Jeanette convinced me to give Firefox a try. I've been using it for several months now and I would never go back to IE. Firefox is a superior product by far. Safari is also a very good product and they now have a beta version for the PC (it was originally for Mac users).

After you download Firefox, go to the SIStv Boutique and see the splash page your have been missing.

I hope this helps!

Take care,

Gary Sullivan
