-clip-it-up ---- seriously. i doubted this thing because of the expenses but holy heck do i LOVE it. in fact, i want like 6 of them. that would be ideal!!! LOL!!!

-ribbon jars --- i redid my ribbon SO many times and found that THIS is what really works for me!

-storing my pens with the tips down -- recently learned this is the right way to store pens and let me tell you --- what a difference it makes when i go to use the pens. i have them in a little bucket on my desk. awesome.

If it's not used almost everyday, it justs packed away, or put on the highest shelf.

Also, my sweetie Ashley Wren, made me buy these top-loading portfolios at Barnes&Noble. I keep my stickers, etc in one and my alphabets/numbers in the other. You just flip through and see what you've got.

Wish the clip its don't cost that much! One day perhaps I'll own one. At the moment I don't even have the space to have one!

As for the pens.. why is it that so many people always say to store them horizontally? Which should be right way? (insert confused smiley here)

i was told the best way to store dual-tips is horizontally, but if it's only got one tip, you can store them with the tip down! seriously. made a huge difference in my life!

Oh ok.. I guess I better store my Tombow horizontally and then turn everything else upside down!

Thanks for the tip chica!

all things clear so i can see what i have!
ribbon jars
small glass jars/cups for small embellishments
baskets for paint and acrylic stamps
i put my chipboard in glass containers too
lots of shelves:)

i have some friends that organize their chipboard alphas by the letter in divided containers. the chipboards are different but makes it easy to find the alpha you are looking for:)

someone else told me that too and since i don't care about being published it doesn't make a hill of beans if i don't know the manufacturer...i will do this with my chipboard

i gues i will do stars , circles, arrows ect for the rest

I like the idea of color files - keeping all embellishments of one color in a file together... I also store my PP and Cardstock separately in a color order - so I can flip through the colors...

I keep all my embellies in little jars I got from Ikea and that has really helped. I still struggle with the best way to organize paper but I do have a bunch of the vertical paper holders and it helps. Most of my ribbon is on a dowel hanging under my shelves unless it's already cut and then it's in a jar.

I love my label maker. I have labeled everything. I have one of those multicolored carts they sold at Costco. I put all my embellishments in there. I sorted all of them by color and then labeled that drawer. I LOVE it. It was my sister's idea. She came over and helped me. I love it because when I go to scrap, I am working on a page and want something red/pink/orange, whatever, I go to that drawer and have TONS of options!! I still have my buttons, ribbons, et cetera in something different but when I say embellishments I mean rub-ons, flowers, stickers, chipboard, felt, et cetera.

Yeah, I'm with you on that Elise. It has be in plain sight for me too. If it's put away, it's not being used. I have tried this, and I just recently went through several plastic boxes and found stuff I never new I had.

I have a basket for stickers and such and a couple of vintage shallow glass dishes my grandmother gave me for little goods like my adored old buttons, and such. This is a good topic for my blog, think I'll post some pics soon.

Oh and i have a box that I put stuff that I want to incorporate soon, little bits a vintage goodness or whatever and when I go to work on something, I pull out that box. I'm constantly adding to it and I try to go thru it every month or so to keep it fresh. It's like my inspiration box.

i have found that it has to be in sight for me to use it.

I'm with ya on this one.
I used ot keep a fun new products bin open on my desk and found this was the only stuff I was using. So, I recently re organized my space and removed things from files and binders into baskets, boxes and $1 metal bins from Target. I'm using so much more of my stuff this way. I used ot keep a fun new products bin open on my desk and found this was the only stuff I was using. I also use the embroidery floss holders for little things like buttons, brads, metal stuff. My paper is by color too in vertical holders.

on another message board i found a way to make one. can't remember where i found that, but i still have the instructions. everything can be found at lowes/home depot (except for some stuff, it was easier for me to get online) but even with shipping i paid about $20 for all my stuff. send me a message if you want the instructions- they're kinda long!

Oh I looove talking about organization. :) I have to reiterate being able to really see your supplies helps so much...and being good about cleaning them out. My Pottery Barn lazy susan is the best thing ever to hold my most used tools...I love having all my chipboard alphabets divided by individual letters...I could go on and on...but I'll stop before you all think I'm a huge dork. :)

I registered for Kate Spade vases so I could fill them with ribbon. That's terrible isn't it. I'm a terrible person. But my scrap table looks amazing.
