...but my butterfly punch is broke. I totally don't know what to do. I finally have time to sit down today and get caught up on some things and wanted to use it...since I haven't got to yet....and it's broke.
the boy (my 9-yo) has no idea how come it isn't working now. even though him and his friend were punching butterflies out of my printer paper. should i murder him or what?
do you think that the martha stewart stuff that wal-mart sells is lesser quality. it that why it broke? would wal-mart take it back. i don't have the package or receipt.
i know you all feel my pain.

It never hurts to try. Tell them you don't want your money back but that you just want to exchange it.
What part of it is broken? Do you think maybe it got dropped?

the punchie part. it's almost like it's out of alignment. if i hold it with both hands it will punch through.

they will probably take it back. You could also just go buy another and then return the original one with the new receipt & packaging. I have done that before, not sure if it is right or not.

go and take it back to walmart...they will accept it, show them that it is broken.
i got mine at M and used the 40% coupon, i was surprised when the lady accepted the coupon...

i don't think walmart's stuff is crappier - i think michael's just expects everyone to use the coupon so it's marked up higher. and i totally think walmart will take it back - they're really good about that...that sucks though...i hope you have fun anyways!!

walmart will take it back for an exchange....i don't think it is lesser quality but i know she had a crappy batch of several of her punches a while back so you may have got one...

When my husband was getting his Master's degree they did this study on walmart. One of the things they found out was that the quality of products companies would put in Walmart were in fact less in quality than the ones that were being sold elsewhere. This is not the case with every single item in Walmart. So when you are comparing Walmart items to more expensive items elsewhere, there are times the other product is better quality. The manufacturers have to cut corners to get their product down to the pricing that Walmart expects so they do cut corners.

walmart is usually really good about taking things back, even if you don't have a receipt. and if it's the green punch, i'm oretty sure only walmart carries those so you're good.

I had a martha circle punch, it lasted exactly 30 seconds. I do not recommend punching chipboard with those. The whole handle snapped off. Me=angry.

And Rhi...you are just so brutally honest. That makes me happy.
I also have to add that I just can't help but love the bitty butterflies.
When things get 'overdone' in this business I either love or hate it. These I happen to mostly love.
They'll probably be gone before we know it.
