do you mean "wish list" pages you've pulled from catalogs or something else? I'm interested....

I'm been working on organizing my albums and trying to get caught up. Everything is now in chronological order and there are spots for all the layouts I want to make. I've gone back as far as 2005 when I got a digital camera. I don't think I'll try and tackle the film years.

i subsribe to a lot of free clothing catlogs (anthro, free people, urban, toast) because they have amazing images (besides the fab clothes) that i love to use. i usually use them to make mini books or atcs, but i'm trying to work them into my actual pages.

right now they are just sitting in a haphazard pile on the floor

random bits and pieces and found objects

Yeah, this is a problem for me, too. I keep starting these pretty boxes with odds and ends in them and then, before I know it, I have 3 pretty boxes all with different stuff in 'em...

I guess I need to categorize it somehow and then store the similar stuff together...

also really struggle with how to organize my paint. it's just sitting in a shoebox on the floor right now and i hate it.

Man, I wish I was at home so I could take a picture and show you how I have my paints stored.

i kinda have a system for my random bits, but i'm not totally happy with it.
i have little tins that i keep paper stuff in and then other bits in.
however, paper stuff turns into paper scraps, labels, lots of stuff.
and other bits has buttons, brads, and every other things in it.
i think i need more tins and more space for them.

I went to a hardwear store and got one of those boards with the hold in them. It got a lot of stuff on it but one thing I did pick up at my now closed LSS was some baskets that can fit into the boards and I have my paints in one of them.

I know clear as mud, right?

How does everyone store their paper

i have those 13x13 accordian files (4!!) and store everything by color.
i have solid and then patterened in different files, but right next to each other.
i also have a section for holiday, stripes, and office inspired because that's what i love.
i also keep page protectors, transparencies and chipboard in there as well.
i really like it, except that they sit on the floor under my desk and i'm always kicking them over.

Ahhhh paper. I have one of those cropper hopper storage thingys where I store all my "older" paper - by color if it's not a big name manufacturer or by manufacturer (i.e. BasicGrey, DaisyD's, Hambly, etc.).

And then I have several of those cubicle storage thingys with sections and that's where I put the most current paper packs/kits that I have - by manufacturer again.

I admit it, I'm a paper junkie...

And THEN, I have a smaller 3-tiered file for my most recent collections and/or what I happen to be working with at the time. Lots of SIStv stuff in there! ;)

bookshelf

here you can see the shoe boxes. this photo is a few months old. the cardboard photoboxes have been replaced with the plastic bins. To the right of my shelf is plastic drawers. I'll go snap a photo of that in a sec.

Each shoebox is dedicated to certain things. Right now I have
-Fabric
-Felt
-Die-cut Felt
-Acrylic Stamps
-Wooden Stamps
-Chipboard Minis
-Chipboard Alphas
-Chipboard Shapes
-Alterables
-Acrylic Paint
-Puff Paint and Stickles

other shelf
this is on the other side of the dining room, on the built in shelves. It's chipboard letters, ribbons, and flowers. I have added additional dowls with ribbon and on dowl that has the felt fusion.

I organize all my paper by color, but have the patterned paper and cardstock separate. I have one tall paper rack with about 24 shelves.

As for my paint, I have it all in an old coke crate. My bottles of glitter are in there, too.

i think that my problem is that i'm so visual that i want everything out.
but, i want everything to look the same and be organized while still being out in the open...

I have most of my stuff out, too. I like to see what I have. All the stuff like chipboard, stickers, and letters I have all in a big dresser. My paper is in the closet, though, because at my other house I had to turn it all upside down because the sun was fading it.

This is my problem as well. I scrapbook in the dining room and I don't have a lot of wall space. One wall is taken up by windows, two of the walls have doors on them that take up a lot of space. So I only have one wall left that I can use for storage. I just have way to much stuff and not enough room for all of it. I think I'm just goint to get some big storage boxes and put a lot of it in the garage and forget I have it. ;)

because at my other house I had to turn it all upside down because the sun was fading it.

wow - I would have never thought of that! I suppose if it's stored vertically - and facing away from the window, that would also solve that problem. My scraproom only has one window that just gets the direct a.m. light, so not too bright in there...
