**Binders or Albums are fine with appropriate page protectors
**I would like to give everyone a nice black marker to journal with,
or other colors are fine
**Paper
**Adhesive
**Scissors or paper cutters
**Stamps and Ink Pads ( I think having a stamp that you could put date marks on a page would be nice so they might be able to put the year and date on things?)
should we just stick to this list or could we add other embellishments?

In an effort to be fair, all donation requests are entered into a weekly drawing. You will not be notified if you are not chosen. If your request is selected, a donation will be sent.

American Crafts
That was the message I received from American Crafts, I have not heard back from the 3 other compaines I have contacted yet so we will see! I am going to produce a flyer and send it to a lot of the companies so they see what this is all about in a different format, just have to create that!
I must say to Alohi, I love the name you came up with, not just because it is the first one, but it is my favorite, I love it! Any other ideas yet??? Love to hear from you my SISters!
You can send me anything you like, I have got punches and embellishments, tons of paper yesterday, about 4 inches high, I don't think there is anything that we will be given that won't be used. I am so excited to go through everything.
I am going to contact Lowes and Home Depot about getting some donated tables for the basement, with just having 2 donations so far to reach my home I know I am going to need a ton of room and my dinning room isn't the spot, not enough room. I am hoping with the tax ID number I will get some help.
I am also going to write to OPRAH, and see about getting some donations from her and Martha Stewart. I know everyone of the letters sent to them are read and while everyone doesn't get a personal answer, they are all read. I had a friend that did that as part as an internship, she did it for another show but said that all letters get read, so we will see!
I want to have the name of our group before I do the flyer so names submitted by Friday will be considered and we will go from there!
AGAIN THANKS SO MUCH!
I finally heard back from the director of the group we are on the conference committee and she said I was amazing, I wrote her back and told her no I am not, my SISters are amazing! She agreed!
I love ya all so much! You have blessed me and reminded me that there are some great people out in the world!
I am so excited that Tracy is going to come and help me, I will give her the biggest hug, so hopefully you all will feel it, watch out my girl!

Anyone else in the Ohio area that wants to help sort, when it gets closer let me know. I am going to make a great lunch for us all and have a little thanks to all that come to help. My mom, Tracy, me, my Secretary, and I am sure there will be others, I am just so blessed!
Man......I wish I was in OH to HELP....sent package to U yesterday......should arrive next week.....watch out girl......don't hurt yourself.....it weighs 58 pounds and 4 ounces!!!!! :):):):):):):):) LOL!!!!

I have sent a letter requesting back issues of Memory Makers Magazine and will contact the other.
I am also going to see if we can buy the table from our program here, it probably won't happen but it could, we will see?
Off to find out more about the Tax ID!

I love the "Scraps for Life", but I think your "selling point" is that you are collecting for a special population of kids. What about "Scraps for Life: because every child deserves to have memories"? Just throwing another one out there!:)

TAX ID is becoming a headache. Briefly, my county wants all the materials to come to my office, that is if we get any donations from the large companies, so far no go. Contacted Memory Makers today but have not heard back, it was a good plea and I hope they will donate something to us.
We are an US, I am not doing this alone and I so appreciate alll your help.

You can also download all of Becky Higgin's sketches from the CK site. That might be a helpful resource for your non-scrappers.

hehehehehe....nooooooo....but U saw the "during" photo on my portfolio.....most of that "mess" (for a lack of a better word) was for these KIDS!!!! :):):):):)

Hey Ladies! Well I have some news about storage for the supplies. My supervisor has decided to buy me three shelves here and plastic storage bins to store a majority of the stuff here at the office. We have huge tables that participants sit at and to make up the kits we will use them to spread out the stuff! I am also going to buy a few shelves for the basement and store stuff there and just bring it here at the time it gets closer to our putting the kits together time. I need the storage down there anyway so!
I have a tax ID number now, from my agency and if I get any supplies or such from larger coorps I will have it sent here, my boss was ok with that! I am so excited about it all!
I am going to look into getting stickers made that says whatever our motto ends up being!!! I will send anyone who wants them one for their care

LADIES, LADIES, LADIES
I replied to a post on another board the other day and while I was told I was not allowed to talk about such things on the board, I have received now 13 more responses for donations for our project here. A few of the people who saw my post before it got taken off posted on a variety of boards and I have heard from them so i am hoping for another group of generous ladies to donate.
My supervisor is going to buy cabinets and storage stuff for us to collect all the stuff here at my office. I am going to have it all sent to my house and then bring it in sorted so it doesn't take a lot of time here at work! I asked if we could have it sent to my house, the storage stuff, but that was a no go! But atleast it is happening!
OK just had to share that love is coming from other boards as well!!! If you pray, keep praying that more and more people find out about this project and we get tons of donations!!!!

Hey Girly Girls! I went to Big Lots today as some of the post are talking about and I bought a bunch of stuff for this project! It was fun!
Anyway I know some of you have asked if you could make pages for the children. Well at first I thought it would be hard to do but one of the yahoo groups that another contributor is on, well many of them live in a relatively close area and they are getting together to make pages for the books.
They are going to make pages that they can just put the pictures in, so like generic school pages, Christmas, holidays of all sorts, some that have no theme at all and they have already thought about it but they are putting a place on the LO to journal!!
So for the gals on here that were asking I think anything you contribute is a blessing so bless these children with your pages!!!
If you do send them to me please place them in a zip locked bag so there is some sort of protection or hey even better a page protector would be great as well.
OK I guess I have gabbed enough for one day!

I think what you are doing is wonderful. I had 3 nephews in the system for a little while (I fostered one). I took pictures of my little fella but the other two little ones didn't have pictures when their mom got them back.

Kristin this is just truly amazing what you have started here. These children deserve all that we can possibly do.
I will be sending you a package this week. I am constantly wondering what to do with all the scrappy stuff that i have.
You could also check out some of the "famous" scrappers blogs and company sites and look for the contact us link, you NEVER know what they might send ya if you ask. They are all companies and companies need tax deductions. Giving away product to a good cause is good for their brand, especially if you can promise them some "brandshine" through your newsletters. etc.
Lisa Bearnson blogged a similar (but much smaller idea) and her readers flooded the guy with donations of stickers. Some to check out:

I sent her a request for donations as well! I wish one of these companies would respond! What a blessing that would be.
I got Julie's box yesterday, it was huge, not sure how DH got it in the house, I had to take it out a few items at a time! THANKS SO MUCH GIRL!!!
I am so excited to watch our donations grow.
The craziest thing to me in watching the 3 boxes that have come so far is that we all seem to have similar taste in paper. I have seen in all 3 boxes paper that I have already added to the stack or ones I have upstairs!
I have also bought a lot of stuff from the BL sale and then yesterday at Deals, they have expanded their scrapping section and I spent 32 dollars but two of the things were for my vintage swap! Never really thought of Vintage at Deals but I found it!

I am so glad to have found this thread. I was just looking at my donate scrap supplies box and wondering what to do. Now I'm extra motivated to fill an even bigger box.
