so... i did a little bit of asking and i have some cool news....
my (not so local) scrapbook store is having a big yard sale this month and whatever's left over is either picked up by the seller, or left at the store to be donated/trashed. WELL, i spoke with the lovely Sarah of Memory Lane PA and she said that she'd be more than happy for me to pick up the leftovers and donate it to you!!! YAY!!!!!!!

I thought U knew this.......I even did a LO with a beautiful poem I found about the gift of adoption........ oooooppppppssssssssie...sorry......and NO WORRIES.....we WILL spend more time together!!! :):):):)

I'd be happy to gather supplies from scrappers, here, too. I'm a teacher, and I've had many, many foster kids come through my class over the years. I know that beautiful books would mean the world to them. For those of us who go to regular crops, you might think of donating one night to creating pages, or ask for one page per person to be donated. That would take some of the work off of the caseworkers, because I know how overworked they are!

Julie- I am so glad you are so happy with your DH! I am glad the time together will create a few laughs! Tell the Grandparents thanks from the bottom of my heart for watching the kidlets!
I want you all to know that I have asked for a whole page in the brochure to recognize you in some special way! I would like to put the SIS logo on there so I would probably need to get permission! Maybe good/free publicity for JH? SHE should be so proud of all you girls, and realize what a really cool community she has started:)
I guess I better do that this weekend as well! Busy Busy!
Have I told you ladies how much I love you all? I might have but if not, I LOVE YOU!

a few questions about types of pages you want -- can you give me some ideas of topics/ages of the kids (are they all ages??)
also, what size pages do you want??? 8.5x11, 12x12??

I saw Lifebooks in this thread, and it stood out to me. That's why I started scrapbooking again or more seriously anyway. I'm creating one for our daugther we are adopting from China.
Kristin, I don't have a lot of supplies myself, but I'm going to go through what I have and send them your way.

Try going to the post office and getting a flat rate box. They come in 2 sizes. You can send as much as you can fit into that box, no matter how heavy, (as long as it still in the shape of the box LOL!) for a flat rate.
I know my mom (Pegasus) and I have a TON of pp that we are in the works of getting rid of. Last month we did a RAK to 4 lucky people to send out some of the pp...I'm going to forward this thread to her and see what she thinks about sending you some of it next time around.
On a personal note, two of my cousins were adopted when they were very young. I think what you are doing is wonderful. Neither of them knew much about their birth parents. One cousin finally sought hers out (they came from different birth families) because she needed to find out medical information. The other cousin has not sought his out. Anyway, I can only imagine how important a book like that would be to both of my cousins...especially now that they're having families of their own.

No problem Julie, I just can't write the script.. but it shouldn't take very long to do a 30 second spot.
I will give Kristin a personal endorsement- always sounds better when a business owner says they support a cause.
But I don't know main location and contact info for center, etc. so I need help with details!

Patricia! Please don't worry about sending anything if you don't have it. I am the one who thought of all this and I had just gone through alll of my stuff and donated to the daycare my daughter goes to and my church for activities. I have soooooooooooo many stickers that I am gong to go through . Just thee fact that you stopped and looked at the post is truly a loving gesture!
In regards to making pages, I would keep them pretty generic, I would suggest either size, maybe some Holiday pages, Seasons, School Themes, maybe somthing that the child or foster parent can just add phots's to and write about the event! Very hard to be specific with these!
Now I don't want to sound demanding, but if you are going to make pages, it would be nice to maybe make a packet, like a 4 season packet or 4 Holiday packet, or something like that so I can give them out like that??? I feel bad asking for anything as you all have been so generous. I am not asking here, just making suggestions:) The kids are any age from just born to 18. Sadly it is there culture that this becomes if they enter the system early, very sad indeed.
By the way I talked to Gary Sullivan last night and he sent me a logo so I can put it in the brouchure.
At some point along the way I am going to get everyone "REAL" names and the cities you are rom and put together a list! I am going to do something else with this page but that will be a surprise for you and I am going to get some help with it, but that is a secret to!
OK . I MUST Get off of here my son has a Band concert this a.m. and he has to be there in an hour!

I contacted 3 companies, yesterday via email, Maya Roades, Mrs. Grossman and another gal I have met recently that is starting her own company on line. I will be on more doorsteps later as well! It think we have a lot going on for this having not been on this post for more than a few days! Love you all! This is all you, I am just organizing it!

Not that I don't appreciate it but I don't want to put their name on something until I have permission. I hope you understand. I will get back to you as soon as I hear something. That is why I have waited till today, I was hoping to hear from her, left her a message but at this time haven't.

I wouldnt suggest a PO box just in case someone who wants to donate choses to use UPS or Fed Ex and those can't be shipped to a PO Box.....U have posted your address on here......but U can go back and edit your posts and remove it if U want.....but then U will have to PM everyone that is interested in donating your address.....just an idea to help!!! :):):):):):):)

I would also love to donate to this cause as I am a mom of two beautiful childen thru adoption. This is such a special cause that is near and dear to my heart, as my babies were 2 and 4 when we adopted them through the foster to adopt program and neither of them had a lifebook, so I worked with their therapist and their paternal great grandparents to gather pictures and create a lifebook each of my children.
I can get a box out this weekend if that is not to late.

We have till June to get everything together, August if needbe! I also want this to be an ongoing project so I am going to have to think about how to do that! Please take your time with this, I really want you all to know how much i appreciate it !
I need to buy some tables to organize this all. I have an unfinished basement and plenty of room to place about 12 long tables. I would like to organize it with boy paper, girl paper, adhesive, stickers, rubons, etc. Just have to figure out how to buy the tables I want, I have seen them, plastic top and easy to move around.
I plan to do this for a while, not just this conference, I am looking at this being a on going project and may have to look into getting my own tax ID number?
Any suggestions on other ways to organize this? I don't want the items to get damaged. Any ideas are welcome!

I also posted on a smaller board, since they are having a scrap garage sale next month. Hopefully I can get some goodies! Maybe when we send items, we can pre-sort them for you? Group papers together with blank page dividers and baggie up embellishments by type? It would probably be much easier for each of us to do it with our own little boxes. Just a thought.

Besides being beautiful you are so smart as well! By the way I love your hair in the picture, cute style!~ What a great idea but I don't want to put anyone out so if you want to do this GREAT, but don't worry about it as it will all get done, I am less worried about this than anything!
I trust anyone who post on a smaller board to give my address to others that might want to donate. I am also humbled by the work you all are doing for this! BMWgirl, your room looks great! What a hot spot to do your creating!
