I know what you mean! I'm in the same boat. My stuff is in the front hall closet and I have to haul out what I want to use and take it to the DR table. So I mean, really, I'm trundling back and forth all the time and 3/4ths of the stuff never sees the light of day. I use Cropper Hopper paper holders and lots of Sterlite boxes (shoebox sized) to sort my embellishments. But it's so hard to remember what's in there!

that if i don't see it, i don't use it!

I do this. And yet I buy more stuff......continuing to bury the old stuff. Somebody help me!! lol!

Elly....I do not know. I know that I recently bought a corkboard. I have been tacking things onto it so I can see them. And I've actually used a few things up this way......like the WHOLE package. (which is amazing for me). Then, when the package is gone, I pull out another one from my stash and tack it up in the empty spot.

This seems to have helped me some. Maybe this would help you?

that if i don't see it, i don't use it!

i have all my small embellishments stored in one of those organizers from the hardware store - with all the little drawers. that seems to work.

for the bigger stuff, what about a clear shoe organizer and/or a clear jewelry organizer?

here are some examples:

how about this?

URLsome more here[/url]

and how about this?

good luck!!!

I got kicked back into my little closet since we needed the big room back. Oh well.

It actually works better because it keeps me in check, bigger room, more space = wanting to fill it.

I still use those Ikea racks I bought as seen here but I don't have a full wall anymore.

I also have a standing basket rack for fruits and veggies with 3 hanging baskets for stamps and other stuff. So I can see things.

elly I am the SAME way

I have Kroken version of the ikea racks- LOVE them

I also have a bookshelf with baskets on it. Baskets=good

I just got the scraponizer

and then put them in my magazine holders from Ikea. I have NO space (ask JJ - she saw my space and said "but, where do you SCRAP?) and so this way I can see everything without it getting really messy

I also keep all my stickers, etc. in clear page protectors in a binder a la ashley wren and I keep all my chipboard elements, letters, etc. in hatboxes- things that I don't have to SEE to know I need I keep in the non-seeable things

I say
make peace with the mess. I live in perfect harmony with mine. :)

tee hee j/k I have lots of see thru drawers that I keep in the closet, so when I scrap I just open the doors and can see what I've got.... when I'm done just close the drawers and doors and mess is all gone :)

Elly, first of all, I miss you!!

Secondly, did you see how tiny my space was? I posted pictures the other day, both here and on LJ. I have a corner and that is all. So, my stuff is all over and full, but it's organized too.

I hope it doesn't look too messy, because it's really not at all.

Glad to see your pink aura back Girl!

I have several plain binders with plastic page protectors like KA mentioned above. I also have one that I keep smaller pieces of paper by color. I feel you, I am so limited on space.

Good luck with that.

Do you have room for a clip it up? My gf has one and I was amazed how much it can hold. You can buy or make a cover for it, if it needs to stay out in the open.
I vote for the scraponizer as well! Perfect small space storage!

You know, I sometimes make HUGE kits out of my stuff (because I'm short on space too). I take a sampling of 10-15 cardstocks and 10-15 patterned papers along a theme of some kind (office supply chic, bright and playful, etc.) and then add stamps, embellishments, alphabets, etc. Then, I stick the "kit" into a ginormous ziploc bag and scrap out of it until I'm not feeling it anymore. I usually have 3-4 going, so I don't get too board. When, I'm done, I just reabsorb all the leftovers into my stash and then create new kits.

This way I can see what I'm using and clean-up is a breeze! Making the kits is kind of like shopping in your own stash! Very fun!

dude, kitting is such a cool idea

I want to use the word kitting a lot. like that phrase i went through when I was always referred to going to the mall as "malling"

speaking of, I need to go to the mall this week

who wants to join me?

hey elly-
remember seeing that curtain rod idea and the clips, jus tlike on the clip it up were hanging from it?
Jus thought that that idea might work for you.

here is one example...
HeatherR

and another...
lpmkate

i thought both of these ideas were awesome solutions.

rolling cart?
roll it over to the coffee table, then roll it back when you're done.
You can hang stuff off it too.
Maybe that would work and a cheap solution?

Dude..Elly...so good to see you!!!

So, when you come down for our little scrap in Niles, I can take you to IKEA and container store in Schaumburg (it's not that far!!!) :)

i totally know how you feel! i'm a college student so i already don't have a lot of space for anything (especially closet space). i would recommend going to either ikea or the container store and just look for what you can work with. and don't just go to the obvious sections-check out the sections for little kids toys and even stuff for the kitchen. creativity is a big helper when it comes to storage space. good luck!

hang it from the ceiling. LOL under desks. mount some shelves. PURGE! Sometimes that helps to see what you have and what you can use. It can also help with sparking up some mojo! I am happy you are back!
