a group of 30 ladies??? I was asked to teach/help for a crafting section at an adult Bible school class. The one that asked me was thinking of scrapping an 8x10 frame. Do you have any great ideas? Will embellishments fit under the glass well? Has anyone made one that I could see? Thanks! I am just not sure to put some kits together or just lay the papers out seeing everyones photos will be different. Any pointers would be appreciated!

bonjour!

I'm not a specialist of the question,
but if I had to take a workshop,
I'd like mini-albums.

It always please to people.

or creating its own embellishments.

I have made frames to sell at craft shows that we put the layouts in. Are they looking for a craft related project or do they want it to be a layout? I guess the way I would start is find the frames that you would use. One of our hotest items are just plain wood frames from Michael's or where ever you can get them. Than we mod podge paper onto the wood and decorate the frame, with embellishments like ribbons, buttons, rub-ons whatever you choose. These frames ususally come with more of a clear piece of plastic than glass. They are good because they have a little give if you decorate with embellishments in a layout.

Last year we did plain provo craft wood frames that held a 12x12 layout. We made a layout that would hold a 5x7 picture and just used photo corners so they could add the picture. We just tended to stick with neutral colors in the layout like greens, browns, tans black type colors. The frames we painted black, greens (sage color) and some reds. Than we antiqued them by sanding in some spots on the sides and corners. These were a big hit. We kept the layouts generic like US for couple, family or christmas. I don't have any pictures of the big layouts, but I do have some pictures of the smaller frames I can post tonight.

I would love to see them. We aren't going to do anything with the frame, they just wanted a layout. I just wasn't sure how bumby you could get under the frame. I believe they are purchasing ones with a glass insert. Thanks so much!

Oooo!
How about you stick the embellishments right on the glass?! SO the picture lays flat in the frame...but all the other stuff is right out on top. Might look cool...and you could put all sorts of goodies on the glass/plexi...stickers, paint, rub-ons, glitter...just about anything!!

Can't say that I've tried it. But I think I just might have to now that I've inspired myself. =)

Good luck...and I'll stop back if another idea hits me. =)

Yes!! And use glue dots since they DON'T MOVE once they bond. Or maybe try to color photocopy embellishments, like lace and buttons. It looks really cool, and you can copy anything.

I did a cute frame with just buttons, like a mosaic or a collage. The instructions are on my website:

I used the $1 frames from Michael's and painted them and then did the button thing. It looks pretty cute and requires little to no crafting skill (always a good thing in a big group -- hehehe).

Good luck!

If it's a Bible school class, I'd do bookmarks.

How about turning the frame into a cork board instead of a picture frame. Get out the mod podge and have fun with it!
