almost everyday in the summer? I don't know what it is, but i keep getting these headaches, and have to reach for the ibuprofen. Not sure if it's the mugginess, or my glasses (have to wear them when watching tv- they don't work!), or maybe from some medication. Not every single day, but for the last week or so I have had them....

I'll bet it's allergies. Have you had pressure behind you eyes? Mine were so bad the past few weeks.

yup, I do. But I stopped taking Rx for them. I just use mucinex when I need to. I've been wanting to try a netti pot though- saw it on Oprah when Dr. Oz was on a couple months ago and was told by an older wise woman to try it.

no! HAhahaha!
It looks like a genie bottle - you fill it with warm salty water and pour it into one side of your nose while you tilt your head over a bowl or sink to catch the water from the other nostril. The warm salt water cleanses your sinuses from pollen and other irritants. Dr. Oz said that in most other countries this is the first source of sinus relief- before medications and it really does give great results. THey had a girl demonstrate ont he show and I swear she showed no signs of discomfort- butthat's becaus eyo can't use plain water- it must have salt in it. I guess plain water will irritate your nose.

I guess you can get it at a pharmacy or probably a health food store. Supposedly, it's more common than you think.

I too am an allergy queen... and have NO idea what sets them off. I'd grab some tablets and see if they help...
Good luck, hope it gets better.

Once I start getting those daily headaches, I head to the eye doctor to get a new prescription. A little bit frustrating because it happens every 8 or 12 months, but new glasses always help make the headaches go away.
Good luck!

divalicious, taking ibuprofen continually can actually give you "rebound headaches" This happened to me. I can only take maybe 3 doses, and then the stuff actually gives me a worse headache. You might be able to wean yourself by trying something milder, like Excedrin or Vanquish. That has worked for me. Good luck!

I saw this too and am intrigued because for the past 4 years I have been using a simple saline nasal spray I buy at the drugstore. I use it every morning to clear things out and it keeps colds and sinus issues at bay, at least for me! Might be worth a look and try.

Oh yes - all sinus/allergy related. I've used the Netti pot but I tend to get so stuffed up that it sometimes makes it worse (but I have pretty narrow sinuses from all the inflammation over the years). There's also a plastic bottle with a kind of shooter spout that I like better than the Netti - can get it at most pharmacies (or healthy pharmacies). Comes with saline packets. But the idea is the same: warm up distilled water, dissolve salt or saline packets, irrigate the sinus passages. Tip: keep your head forward as you tilt/do each side or it ends up down your throat...not so pleasant...lol. If u want more info, leave me msg. in my gallery here, or on my blog.

I second the nettie pot. I never thought I would be able to do it, but once I started I love it. Great when I feel a cold coming on too.

I've suffered from headaches most of my life, rarely a migraine but just headaches. They seem to stem from my sinuses and TMJ. The only thing that has helped me has been seeing a chiropractor. I now only get a headache about once a month.

TMJ? When I was younger growing up I used to get headaches every Saturday... I am so not joking, it was either because I slept in and usually got up early for school, or because my room was too hot... Kellie

I have chronic daily migraines. Diva, you should go see a neurologist.... your headaches may be more serious and they could give you something stronger than ibuprofen to stop the pain.

Yep. I get 'em too. When allergens are at super high levels, or whenever it rains...not sure if that is all about the barometric pressure or mold levels...
Anyway, the nettie pot...I use Nasaline. It was recommended by my homeopathic doctor. It works really well...the salt water can sting though...it takes a while to get the right water temp and for me the amount of salt they recommend is too much...but it does help a lot!
