okay my turn:

1. How long were you scrapping before you submitted your first lo?
The first scrap page I ever did was for a contest--the Chatterbox Make it Meaningful Contest. That album drained me so I put away scrapping for almost a year. So have finally really been back in the swing of scrapping as we do it now for about 2 years. Back when I was 11, I liked to glue receipts and stuff into books (smile).

2. How many lo's did you have to submit before the first was published or you got onto a DT? I got totally lucky. Pretty much, the first pages I submitted were for the Fiber Scraps DT and I was selected to be on their first design team. My first publication was in Simple Scrapbooks (July/August 2005) and they saw my layout on ScrapSubmit and contacted me.

3. What was the first contest/DT/Magazine you ever got accepted to?Fiber Scraps (they do ink daubers...remember when walnut ink was like the hottest thing??) was the first DT I was on. Simple Scrapbooks was the first mag to publish me.

Fun reading everyone's stories!

AND
HOLY COW JODY....GO FOR THE GOLD GIRL!!!!!!

Gosh. Thanks. A lot of people came up to me during the CK SOY awards dinner and my time at Vegas Memory Trends and they were all telling me how amazing I was....how "brave" I was to enter my stuff.

But you know what? First of all, I was REALLY naive!! I had no idea what kind of contest I was getting into...had no idea how much or how amazing the talent was that I was submitting into.

And most importantly I had NOTHING to lose!! I had no pressure...NO expectations!! I was just scrapping for the fun of it and exploring what I could do with my stories.
SOmeone fell for it. And named me Top Ten.

And then JJ picked me for a Fashionista.

And I am just trying not to 'blow my cover'. =)
{he he he}
But I think that's the most important thing in scrapbooking, because it IS so subjective. That you scrap for yourself and for FUN first. And everything else will come to you if that is your good lucky.
Guess I've been lucky so far!

Great answers here...I've enjoyed reading my SISters rise to scrapdom here! =)

1. How long were you scrapping before you submitted your first lo?

I had been scrapping for about 3 months before I started submitting. I just figures I would submit EVERYTHING that I did , if I wanted it bad enough, it would happen, you know. I had NO CLUE what submitting was all about or the magazines or anything, I just jumped at the chance to share.

2. How many lo's did you have to submit before the first was published or you got onto a DT?

I was first published by Scrap Girls, DIGI!! I submitted my first 6 layouts I had ever done digi, and I was fortunate that they liked them and asked me to become part of the team. Truth be told I just think that my stuff looked so much different than everybody else's because I wasn't following and rules and I was just doing it in was that I KNEW how.

3. What was the first contest/DT/Magazine you ever got accepted to?
Scrap Girls, they were so very generous and supportive to a new girl one the team and a new girl to scrapping in general. They first mag that I was published in was BHG Scrapbooks Etc.
