I just purchased an acrylic album and I am wondering what type of products do you recommend to use with it such as adhesive or ink... any tutorial or link you suggest. If I use a spray adhesive, wouldn t it show through. tks!

Congratulations on your new purchase. Acrylic Albums are the thing to have these days. I havent taken the plunge yet but I've seen some amazing ones.
I have no idea what you would use as adhesive but I would think that sprays would not be a good idea.
Good luck - Have fun.

Hi :)
I know there are many different forms of adhesive that people use. I personally use one called Ad Tech which is actually pretty inexpensive and you can purchase it at Wal Mart...but I do know that JJ has a cool adhesive tool in the boutique--not sure how that works on acrylic. The one I use you can still see *slightly* but if you use Hambly with designs it is not even noticable at all :)
It's a permanent glue runner so you won't have to worry about anything falling off and you can even use it to adhere buttons or even fabric onto the acrylic :) It's such good stuff and totally affordable :)

oh and I would try to stay away from liquid glue...1-it might be totally noticable and 2-it peels on acrylic :)

i've used my atg gun and if you keep it minimal i've found that it doesn't show all that much... if i adhere something on one side, then i try to adhered something in thesame spot on the other side and that hides the adhesive too... i've also used eyelets to stick items to the page... i've done two, i think one is in my gallery...

I made one recently... I used a tape runner... and it just takes a bit of planning in terms of what you'd have on both sides of the pages, that way you know where you can put strips of adhesive without it showing on the other side.
Another trick is to use alpha stickers and embellishments to stick things down as well.
Do share when you finish it! :D

I use mini glue dots. They are so small they aren't really noticeable. I even use them with the Hambly overlays on top and with the designs on them, you can't see them. Staz-On ink should work since it sticks to plastic and sheer stuff. As for pens, try the Sakura Glaze. Good luck!

I am loving these tips.. I quite a few of these and I have been afraid to use them because I didn't exactly know how!! Thanks for all the advice.. I am loving the mini glue dot advice and the adhering things with stickers.. good idea!! I have an ATG too and was wondering if it worked well.. Good to know it does.. Also does ink work well on Acrylic?? or what about paint.. If I paint something should I go over it with Modge podge.. but If i did I bet it would look funny!! HMMM

Stazon ink works great directly on the plastic, plus if you make a mistake you can just clean it of with Stazon cleaner and start again. Acrylic paints are fine too - they only come off if you really scrape them.

i did one and i used tombo or glue dots depending on what the adhesive was going behind. i just figured out what was going on the back of the page so that i knew where the adhesive could go. remember that double sided papers are really fun with the acrylic albums! the paper i used to journal on one page could serves as the background for the next page and it gave it a really cool depth.
p.s. mine is in my portfolio under minis if you would like to see it.

I use a needle and thread and staples to put things on them. The effect of acrylics are so awesome! I am sure this won't be your last!

I used my ATG gun to apply my pictures. Stazon for stamping and rub ons. My husband cut me two from acrylic sheets we found at Lowes. Ones in the shape of a wedding bell and the other one in the shape of a dog bone that I made for my mom for Christmas.
Here they are.

ive made 3 now, and i just use double sided tape, and work it so the other side hides the tape, if you work each side to compliment the other it can work out awesome. im working on one atm, hopefully finish soon, but i have a few in my gallery too if you want to see.
mine were just made from clear plastic sheets similar to hambly overlays. so yeah if it works on those it should work on yours :D
