a lot of pages! My vacations seem to take 40 or more pages each (lots of pics). Right now I'm using post albums but I replace the posts with straps. I love the strap but the spine covers are getting a bit short for me

Also, how many pages do you put between spacers?

Thanks

I gave up on post bound b/c they drive me nuts...but to answer your questions...I put 5-10 pages between spacers - random amounts really.

Switch to D-ring...you'll NEVER go back! They are like a 3-ring notebook, you just place the pages in and you can rearrange without a screwdriver!!!

I agree that D rings hold the most. Also, I put spacers with the pages with lumpy embellishments & it always seems to work out to be plenty.

I have spacers between every two or three pages and the book cover still won't lay flat.

I put spacers every 5 or so pages. Maybe you've filled it to full and are at the end of your 'rope' I mean strap. If it were posts, I would say to add another post.

I have to say, now that I know I can staple the pages together that need together (2-page layouts) I am a convert... (to D-ring)
I do very much miss the Maple Leaf side loading page protectors-I hate top loading pages, to be 100% honest... but with EK not making them, I have no other alternative (do I?), except creative memories, and they are too much $$ and I hate that their not true 12x12....

ANYWAY, I love the variety I can have with D-ring-throwing in different sized protectors... FUN!

Well, I did go to a D-ring and the book still will not lay flat. I think I still have too many pages. So, now question... how many pages is too many? My Italy album has 91 layouts - 46 page protectors!!

now THIS is something I really needed to know!!!!!
I am the process of changing from post to d-ring, but still do lots of double 12x12 lo's.

Do you think that stitchin' could also work?
I guess it's the "under" layers of each page protected that gets connected?
All tips gladly received....

Thanks so much

Maybe peggybk could separate into 2 albums?--part one and part two--I did this for my Europe trip--and I don't mind that they are not all in one album--makes it lighter for people to go through too! For post/strap albums I think "they" say about 30-40 pages depending on bulkiness of embellishments used.

Oh--also the American Crafts D-ring album (like the one they sell at the Boutique) completely closes up so you don't have that problem of it not lying flat--they albums are pretty pricey (compared to post/strap) but the quality is FAR better (and I love that new leather smell), plus once you go through all the trouble and expense of creating your layouts, it seems right to put them in a quality album that will last and preserve them.

I need to buy about 30 D-ringers. ALL of my post bound albums are breaking in one way or another. And those screws are so cheap, they don't even thread on right. UGH!

I guess I have some decisions to make. I really could break it into two albums but my mind wants them in one. Hmmmmm...... think, think, think...

AC albums are the way to go...
Peggy, i think you are just gonna have to break them into two albums
or stop scrapping at lightning speed :) You are awesome...
I think a two volume set of your vacation would be really nice. Label the spine - it would be very impressive :)

Now I know I've found my place :)

I was a 3-ring binder girl for years, decided to go to post bound last year because they were cheaper and I do a lot of 2 page LO's that I thought would look nicer in the post bound--but I HATE them. I regret every one I bought on sale. D-rings are definitely the way to go and worth every penny.
